Biography
Dr. Berger, a native of Southern California, began performing at the age of
eight in church and musicals, and continued her musical education by
attending the University of Michigan for her undergraduate work. After
developing a love for classical music, she continued her studies at the
Manhattan School of Music, then later returned to the University of Michigan
to complete a Doctorate of Musical Arts.
Highlights of her performance experience include singing the role of Dinah in
Bernstein's Trouble in Tahiti, being part of Songs of Darkness & Light: A Kurt
Weill Revue for the Theo Ubique Theatre in Chicago, singing mezzo roles in
L'Enfant et les Sortilèges with the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, and
performing as the Third Secretary in John Adams' Nixon in China with
Chicago Opera Theater.
She has been fortunate to work with and learn from artists and teachers such
as Freda Herseth, Martin Katz, Patricia Misslin, George Shirley, Joshua Major
and Kenneth Kiesler.
Reverie's musical passions lie in classical cabaret music, German Lieder, and
musical theater.
